Some pics have surfaced of an up and coming new HTC Android device being called the Incredible. It's got some great specs including Android 2.1, HTC Sense, Snapdragon CPU believed to be 1GHz, 3.5-3.7" WVGA screen, 256mb RAM, and dual LED Flash. It's also got an optical mouse pointer at the bottom of the device, no trackball. I must say though, I am not fond of it's orange colored back. This device will be hitting Verizon but no rumored dates have been leaked yet. Hopefully we will get an official announcement soon with confirmed specs and details on when this baby will be available.

There is an article on cnet that should put all BlackBerry users on guard. We often times are comfortable with the level of security the RIM devices provide, but think again. While many of us will never run into an issue, it is out there and this is a good warning to all of us as smartphone users to be careful.
"Tyler Shields, a senior researcher at the Veracode Research Lab, has written a piece of spyware that allowed me to shoot an SMS command to his phone and have his contact list forwarded to my e-mail address in a demonstration. With another short text command, I was able to get his BlackBerry to e-mail me any SMS messages he sends.
And if I had wanted--and he had allowed me--I could have seen a log... [Read More]

There have been rumors of the features to come in BIS 3.0 for months now, but today BBLeaks posted a link to a leaked PDF which confirms some details that will be good news to BlackBerry users, particularly those who use gmail.
One of the benefits of BIS 3.0 will be two-way gmail sync of read/unread items and sent items using the Enhanced Google Mail plug-in. FINALLY!!!! This was one feature that always surprised me that the BlackBerry lacked considering email was it's biggest strength.

One app that is very popular on the iPhone platform is the restaurant finder, UrbanSpoon. Now us DROID users get to try it out. I just happened to check the "Just In" list in the Android Market and saw that UrbanSpoon now has an Android version available. It is limited to Motorola DROID and Nexus One users, not sure if it will be available for other devices soon or not. I gave it a quick test and it seems to work pretty well for me.
It's a nice app to have when you're looking for a place to eat and don't know the area, or if your just looking for something new. Or maybe you don't know what you want, just keep shaking it until something looks/sounds good! It's easy to use, quick to customize, and loaded with features... [Read More]
I came across this app nearly a year ago when they were asking for beta testers and I gotta say, I fell in love. It was exactly the kind of application I was looking for when it came to being able to find my BlackBerry if I had lost it and to keep a backup of all my contacts/messages online. Using a very simple interface, I was able to schedule automatic data backup and get SmrtGuard tracking my every movement. Normally I'd be put off by that, but it's one of the key elements to this application.
It's been out of beta for a while now, offering a paid subscription service and it's user base has... [Read More]

I saw some tweets about this late last night so I took the time to look up a few articles this morning and see what the buzz is on this new post from Apple on the Developer Connection:
"App Store Tip: Enhance Your App with Core Location
The Core Location framework allows you to build applications which know where your users are and can deliver information based on their... [Read More]
